Our Blocks Rock
For many of our students, our six-week block schedule is one of the main reasons they chose to attend Spalding. In fact, we’ve been named a top-5 college for our non-traditional schedule (College Raptor).
So, What’s a Block Schedule?
It’s six-weeks of learning followed by a one-week break between your next session of classes. With blocks, you have the luxury of choosing, every six weeks, the schedule you’d like. You may want to focus exclusively on one course, or you may be ready to take on more, earning six credits in six weeks. You are in the driver’s seat with our six-week block approach.
How Is a Block Different From a Semester?
At other universities, you are required to take a minimum of four classes every semester, which means you’ll have to juggle four or more classes over 18 weeks. At Spalding, you can take one or two classes every six-weeks, still be considered a full-time student, and graduate in four years or less. You can get a feel for what our schedule is like by viewing our academic calendar.
What Does a Block Break Look Like?
You tell us. A block break can be anything you’d like it to be. A week to get a head start on your next class, a vacation, a service trip, or even a visit home.
Earn Your Degree in the Way That Works for You.
However you want to achieve your degree, there is a way for you to find success. All of our programs have opportunities for clinical, practicum, internship or service learning experience. Our graduate studies offer flexibility and choice with online, hybrid and low-residency programs. You will not only graduate with a Spalding degree, but also walk into the marketplace with real-world experience in your field.
